Photogram/ Rayograph
What Is A Photogram?
A photogram is an image created by placing various objects onto a piece of photo sensitive paper and exposing them to light. These types of photos are unique, as they are not taken by an actual camera. The objects are touching the photo sensitive paper, therefore it protects these particular areas from getting exposed to the light, creating a white/ pale grey silhouette.
-First, we arranged the objects we wanted to capture in the photogram, onto the photo paper.
-Then, we removed the lens from beneath the light and left the light on for around 7 seconds.
-After this process, we placed the paper in the developer for 2 minutes, then the stopper for 30 seconds, then the fixer for 1 minute.
WWW:
- I left the light exposed for a good amount of time leaving the objects clear to see.
- The objects I chose are interesting; they were very different compared to one another.
- The shapes are presented by using space which adds to the idea of photograms.
EBI:
- I could have used a wider range of objects, making the setting a bit more interesting.
